Building The Bridge is a Comunity Interest Company. We aim to increase creative opportunities and access to cultural assets for young people and their families, tackling social exclusion and poverty of experience.
Building the Bridge CIC is a community arts organisation dedicated to increasing creative opportunities and social inclusion for young people and families in Longsight, Manchester, and Greater Manchester. Founded by artist Emma Martin, the organisation continues the important work she began at Stanley Grove Primary Academy, where she led creative projects to tackle social exclusion and expand access to cultural experiences.
Our mission is to break down barriers to Greater Manchester’s rich cultural assets by engaging traditionally hard-to-reach communities through large-scale, mass-participation art projects and community events. By creating pathways for families to explore their creativity and cultural spaces, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and empowerment. Through initiatives like the Manchester Multi-Language Mushaira and mass-participation artworks, we continue to inspire thousands of young people and their families to connect with Greater Manchester’s cultural landscape.
